Covid-19! Wear mask, maintain social distance, appeals UoM ex- VC Rangappa

Mysuru: Former Vice-chancellor of University of Mysore Prof K S Rangappa on Saturday exuded confidence that the vaccine for Covid-19 should be out in the country in the next couple of days.
Addressing a press conference at Vijnan Bhavan, Rangappa allayed general fear among the people, by saying that “Corona pandemic is not a serious health hazard.
Many people are distressed due to the fear of virus. The Covid safety norms like wearing face mask and maintaining a social distance should be followed”, Rangappa stated.
Every countries in the world are engaged in their own way to research and conduct trials on vaccine for Covid-19, said Rangappa.
Welcoming the New Education Policy (NEP)-2020, Rangappa said “All the states must implement NEP. It wipes out the difference between government and private education system”.
On his current area of focus, Rangappa who is also a scientist said “I am focusing on science and research. I have decided to stay away from politics for better, as it is more comfortable and i will go with science. The central government which had recognised my works had nominated me to Indian Science Congress (ISC), a prestigious organisation”, said Rangappa justifying his decision.
