Mysuru: Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji on Friday appealed to the people to continue with safety measures to keep Covid-19 under zero for long.
Reacting to media queries over the city achieving a remarkable feat with the active cases coming down to zero against 90 cases reported from March, the seer said ‘however we should be wary about the virus and take precautionary steps by wearing masks and maintaining a social distance”.
If we continue to keep the pandemic under control, we may be pushed to orange zone and eventually green zone. God almighty has blessed Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for his efforts in this regard.
In the case of Mysuru, it was unexpected that the pandemic struck the city for two main reasons. However, at the same speed the concerted efforts made by a team of officials, from deputy Commissioner to pourakarmikas, we have been able to overcome the effects of pandemic, the seer said.
Most importantly, whoever was down by virus and was admitted to the hospital recovered, the seer added.
