Mysuru: With Coronavirus scare everywhere and restrictions on tourists, the City is witnessing less number of tourists this year.

Besides, the district administration has declared week-long shutdown of all government and private programmes in the city, as a safety measure.

Summer being the holiday season, majority of the tourist centres in the city would be bustling with tourists. However, this year, these centres look deserted. Moreover, the total shutdown declared by the State government has also contributed to the dull season.

Majority of the places like Amba Vilas Palace, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Chamundi Hills and other centres have recorded less footfall this time.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Shankar has stated that all government and private programmes have been cancelled in the City for weeklong.

JSS Mysore Urban Haath had organised a handicraft mela but it has been put off, temporarily. Similarly, Kalamandira has shut down all its activities and Rangayana has cancelled a weekend play Gandhi Vs Gandhi organised on March 15.
