Covid-19: Mysuru returning to normalcy, but no relax in lockdown: DC

Mysuru: The Covid-19 pandemic is under control in Mysuru now as there are more number of negative cases, said Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar in Jayapura.
So far, Mysuru has registered 88 positive cases and of that 40 per cent of the infected have recovered. As many as 33 have been discharged from isolation among them two senior citizens too. Two patients were in ICU and of that one patient has been shifted to general ward. Considering these facts, it can be said that the situation is under control in Mysuru, he said.
He further said that the testing process of all the Jubilant employees is over. However, their primary and secondary contacts need to be tested. Of that only two per cent may test positive or may not.
Meanwhile, it has been decided not to relax lockdown norms in Mysuru for now. Unless there is an emergent situation, nobody will be allowed to work. But they must have pass.
Allowing construction work and IT sector work may lead to unnecessary traffic problems. This may lead to further problems. Hence, it has been decided to maintain the status quo until May 3.
A Central team of health ministry is in Mysuru to assess the measures taken to tackle Covid-19, he said adding this is not an investigation team.
