Covid-19: District registers 18 cases, but politics at play here

Mandya: Playing politics seems to be the birth right of our politicians even when the district is dealing with a crisis like Covid-19 pandemic.
Mandya MLA M Srinivas and former minister C S Puttaraju – both from JDS – decided to stay away when a meeting on Covid-19 pandemic was scheduled on Wednesday.
Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar was chairing a meeting to discuss the strategies adopted to check Covid-19 in the district at ZP’s Cauvery auditorum. But the legislators M Srinivas and Puttaraju did not care to attend the meeting for reasons best known to them. Sudhakar went ahead with the meeting.
However, understanding the gravity of the situation, district incharge minister Narayan Gowda decided to convince Srinivas and former minister Puttaraju eventually, he did manage to bring them to the meeting.
Mandya has registered 18 Covid-19 positive cases so far.
MP Sumalatha Ambareesh, DC Dr Venkatesh, SP Parashuram, MLA and ZP president Nagarathna Swamy were present.
