Discussion is on to reduce lockdown relaxation time in those areas where cases are more. It will be from 6 am to 8 am, not till 10 am
Mysuru: As the spike in Covid cases in the district makes Mysuru one among the districts driving Covid surge with most positivity rate in the state, the district administration is mulling a slew of measures to contain the cases.
Firstly, plan is on the anvil to cut the lockdown relaxation time to enable people to buy essentials by two hours, in those areas where the cases are high.
In such areas, the relaxation time will be from 6 am to 8 am, while in other areas it will be till 10 am, as disclosed by Deputy Commissioner Rohini V Sindhuri on Tuesday.
Speaking to media after taking part in a video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, deputy commissioner said “the positivity rate in both Mysuru Taluk and Nanjangud taluk is 90 per cent. We will go for more stringent actions in micro containment zones. Besides, we are also planning to conduct competition for villages to become Covid free villages. We will also provide special status to villages.
DC was also happy to acknowledge that ‘Covid Mithra’ idea of ours is innovative in nature and we have submitted the same idea to higher ups.
