Around 75 employees of the hospital including the general manager, doctors, nurses and other staff members voluntarily donated blood.

Col Rahul Tewari, General Manager – Columbia Asia Hospital, Mysuru – inaugurated the event and took the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas to highlight the importance of blood donation and created awareness. Doctors encouraged and informed the need for more voluntary donors in the country in order to fill in the gaps, especially due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

“Blood donation is very critical during the time of COVID-19 and there is a need to educate people about the importance of donating blood for those in need. There is severe crisis in most of the blood banks. Due to Covid 19, there is shortage of blood everywhere as donors are skeptic to visit any blood donation centre”, said Tewari.

Through this event we want to create awareness and educated people on safe blood donation and urge everyone to come forward and save lives. Today our employees and doctors have proved that they are not just Warriors but Heroes who will go any extent to keep Namma Mysore Safe and Healthy and I also salute the Jawans of the Indian Armed forces who are always guarding the pride of India” said Tewari.
