Covid-19: Asha worker threatened in Haleem Nagar

Mysuru: Close on the heels of attack on Asha workers and health officials at Padarayanapura in Bengaluru, an Asha worker at Haleem Nagar, NR Mohalla police limits in the city was allegedly threatened by miscreants for asking them not to roam around during lockdown.
Three persons identified as Mehboob, Khaleel and Jeesan were roaming in Haleem Hagar, despite lockdown.
An Asha worker who saw them, asked them to get back to their homes and respect the lockdown norms. Apparently irked by this, the trio threatened the Asha worker of dire consequences.
She has now filed a complaint at NR police station.
DCP Prakash Gowda told Mysoorunews.com that they are looking into the complaint.
Meanwhile, district in-charge minister ST Somashekhar told media persons here on Tuesday that the police gave booked FIR against the trio and will soon arrest them. “Those troubling ‘Corona Warriors’ will be dealt with iron hand,” the minister said.
He also that the government is contemplating to adopt Uttar Pradesh and Kerala government policy on protection of Asha workers. A decision with regard to this will be taken by evening.
