Covid-19! Amidst criticism, DC releases list of Rs 36 crore expenditure

Mysuru: Under criticism from various quarters, Deputy Commissioner Rohini V Sindhuri continues to remain unperturbed and allows only her works to speak rather.

Hours after Mysuru- Kodagu MP Prathap Simha fulminated deputy commissioner over procurement of Covid medicines, the latter released balance and expenditure.

Beginning from Covid first wave in March 2020 till date, Government has released Rs 41 crore under disaster management fund towards Covid related measures in the district and Rs 36 crore has been spent from it.

While highest of Rs 13 crore is spent on procuring medical equipment, medicine, PPE kits, mask and stationery items to district hospital, Rs seven crore is spent on testing materials and consumables for Mysuru MedicalCollege and Research Institute, Rs five crore on setting up isolation centres, Covid Care Centres and its maintenance, Rs four crore on hotel accommodation for those in quarantine and food facility for the patients, Rs four crore on vaccination and testing vehicles, Rs one crore each on swab collection and outsourced staff, oxygen supply, telephone, internet, computer, shamiyana and other expenditure, totalling Rs 36 crore.
