On Monday, the district administration released new guidelines for the quarantining of people coming from other states.
According to the new guidelines, all who wish to enter Mysuru district from other states will be subjected to 14-day quarantine. Either they can stay at designated hostels for free of cost or at hotels by paying on their own. They will not be allowed for home quarantining.
DHO Dr R Venkatesh told mysoorunews.com that more than 10 hotels have been identified for quarantine facility and their cost varies. Already, 215 people who arrived to their home district from other states are being quarantined in different localities. The health staff regularly screens them, he informed.
Meanwhile, hotels are facing opposition from localities for allowing quarantining in their premises.
But, Hotel Owners Association President C Narayanagowda observed that they are also from Mysuru and it’s their home too. He urged the localites to understand the situation and co-operate with the district administration.
