Bengaluru: A week after the release of ‘Tippu Nijakanasugalu’ a play written in the form of a book by Rangayana Mysuru Director Addanda C Cariappa on November 14, City Civil and Sessions Court has ordered a stay on the distribution and selling of book.

In its order, the court passed a temporary injunction restraining the author Addanda Cariappa, Publisher Ayodhya Publications and Printer Rashtroththana Mudranalaya from distributing and selling the book.

This follows a suit filed by S Raifulla former president of District Wakf Board, Bengaluru.

In his suit, Raifulla has contended that “the book contains wrong information, lacking any supporting materials and justification from the history. The words used in the book are derogatory that may hurt the feelings of Muslims”.
