Couple robbed on Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway

Mysuru: A drive on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway turned nothing less than a horror to a couple who were robbed at knife point near Mandya in the wee hours of Monday.
Nagaraju N, 58 and his wife Jayasri L, residents of Ramakrishna Nagar in Mysuru were travelling back home in their car when the incident occurred.
It is reported that Nagaraju stopped near Mallaiahna Doddi to take a break around 1.10 am. After attending nature’s call, Nagaraju was stopped by a man at knife point. Another man had got into his car and held his wife. They demanded cash and valuables from the couple and threatened to attack if they shouted for help. They took away cash and other valuables from the couple and disappeared in the dark.
According to some reports, the couple were returning to Mysuru after dropping their son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
Following their complaint with Mandya police, Mandya SP N Yathish said that highway patrolling will be intensified on the Expressway. He also said that special teams have been formed to bring culprits to the book.
