Corporator M V Ramaprasad of Chamundipuram ward-55 celebrated the festival by offering bagina and saree to 50 pourakarmika women.
Ramprasad said “Unlike others who partake in the festival with enthusiasm and clad in new dresses, pourakarmikas continue to discharge their duties. They see God in their work. With Dasara festival nearing, their efforts will be more.”
Leaders Sandeep, Chandrasekhar, Vikram Iyengar, Gokul, Puneeth, Adwaith, Shivu, Santosh, Dharmendra, Devendra Swamy, Lalithamba, Basavaraj, Rakesh, Madhu, Ramachandra, Roopesh, Kaushik and others were present.
