Coronavirus! District Congress Committee to form taskforce at eight assembly constituencies

Mysuru: Mysuru district Congress Committee resolved to form task force at each of the eight assembly constituencies in the district to bolster the fight against Coronavirus in the district.

This was decided during the maiden meeting of the district Congress Committee’s task force held at Indira Gandhi Congress Bhavan in the city.

This follows the directions of KPCC President D K Shivakumar.

According to Mysuru district rural Congress Committee president Dr B J Vijaykumar “there were open discussions in the meeting, following which it was decided to take several measures in the interest of the country”.

The decisions are as follows- Setting up task force at each of the eight Assembly constituencies under the leadership of either Congress MLAs or defeated party candidates, including block presidents and 15 members, followed by two helplines- 8296769577, 9741392799, district level taskforce under the leadership of MLA H P Manjunath and B J Vijaykumar, prominent office- bearers.

ZP members elected on Congress ticket should donate Rs 10,000, Taluk Panchayat members Rs 5,000 and town municipal council and city municipal council members Rs 2,500 to KPCC relief fund through respective block presidents, either in the form of DD or cheque.

Most importantly, the district committee must identify those programmes devised by Central and state governments that aren’t effectively implemented and bring it to the notice of authorities. The calls received at helpline should be brought to the notice of tahsildars, ZP or TP members.

The instructions issued by KPCC should be followed and no room should be given to unnecessary politics and arguments and work in the interest of the nation, said K P Chikkaswamy, media spokesperson, district Congress Committee.
