Mysuru: Despite ease in Covid situation, the district administration has not lowered the guard at Mysuru Palace.

Palace being one of the top tourist attractions across the globe, attracts tourists from every corners. Hence the staff of department of health and family welfare aka ‘Corona Warriors’ continues to conduct RTPCR and RAT tests on the tourists.

The Covid kiosk at Palace has conducted more than 5,000 Covid tests since a year.

It’s not easy to convince tourists to take Covid test. Health staff face different challenges during duty. Some of them argue on the pretext of undergoing the test a month ago. Moreover, as most of the tourists have taken vaccine, they question the rationale behind the test again”, said a health staff on duty.

Despite all these hiccups, the health staff provide service with a smiling face. As the tourists come to enjoy the serenity of Mysore Palace, they have stepped up the vigil against the the enemy in the form of invisible virus.

On an average, 200 tests are conducted daily and the report is issued instantly. Some of the foreign tourists produce Covid negative reports and get green signal to enter the Palace.

On World Tourism Day on Monday some of the tourists also thanked the health staff for rendering their service to ensure safe and secure tourism in Mysuru.
