Bengaluru: Director General and Inspector General of Police Praveen Sood has issued orders to consider the quarantine period of police personnel as duty period.
At the community level the selfless service of the police officer and the staff who execute the lockdown is truly commendable. They perform duty in infected areas, communicate with infected and are constantly in touch with the public.
We all know that, the policemen and staff who are connected to the Covid-19 officer can also be easily infected.
To prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection at the community level, primary and secondary contact persons are also quarantined. Also, inter-district / inter-state travellers will be kept in quarantine. Similar is the case with men in khaki who travel on duty.
So any such police officer and staff who contract the virus and kept under quarantine, will be considered as on duty. They will be not exempted from duty period.
