Cops arrest a terror suspect, moulvi in Gundlupet

Chamarajanagar: In a joint operation, police have arrested a moulvi in Gundlupet on the charges of providing shelter to a terror suspect.

Sadakathulla, 35 son of Rahmathulla, and resident of Hosur road in Gundlupet town is the moulvi. He had given shelter to a terror suspect in a mosque, it is learnt.

It was a joint operation of anti-terrorist squad, internal security division and central crime branch personnel from Bengaluru that led to the arrest after the midnight hours of January 11.

Both were taken for further questioning to Bengaluru.

It was just a few days ago the terror suspect had moved to Gundlupet from Kolar where the police had tracked his movement.

The arrest follows the revelation of the accused arrested on the charge of murder of Pandi Suresh a Hindu activist in Tamil Nadu. The accused arrested in the case spilled the beans about the terror suspect who was hiding in Gundlupet.
