Hassan: Amid speculations over the hike in milk prices, the milk producers may also benefit with the hike in milk procurement price.

Minister for Cooperation and Hassan incharge Minister K N Rajanna spoke to media persons and said “state government is mulling over increasing milk procurement price in the interest of milk producers.”

Rajanna presided over the preliminary meeting of Kempegowda Jayanti celebration and said “Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) and other milk unions have sent various proposals to government seeking a hike in milk price. A decision will be taken at an appropriate time on these proposals.’

For various reasons, the milk production has also fallen, but government is planning to help milk producers and the farmers who are affected by delay in monsoon, by passing on the benefit of hike in milk price to them.

Rajanna also lashed out at the central government for deliberately denying rice to Karnataka as an act of vengeance against Congress party which won with absolute majority in the state.

“The issue over rice is politically motivated, but our government will not go back and have all the capacity to buy rice and fulfill the guarantees made to people”, said Rajanna.
