Congress to continue indefinite protest till Eshwarappa is arrested: D K Shivakumar

1 min read

Bengaluru: Even as RDPR Minister K S Eshwarappa has announced his resignation over the alleged suicide of civil contractor Santosh K Patil of Belagavi, the Opposition leaders from Congress have decided to intensify their protest till Eshwarappa is arrested in the case.

Soon after Eshwarappa announced to stepdown, Congress leaders led by KPCC President D K Shivakumar and Opposition leader Siddaramaiah hurriedly convened a press conference only to go all out against BJP and Eshwarappa.

Shivakumar alleged that “BJP is busy uttering lies as they are floating hundreds of lies. It won’t work and now Eshwarappa has announced his resignation, but we won’t stop our agitation and will continue till his arrest”, Shivakumar clarified.

Siddaramaiah said “BJP government is corrupt, as its ministers and high command are splitting the percentage among themselves. Earlier Eshwarappa feigned his ignorance over knowing who Santosh Patil, but Eshwarappa’s resignation proves that he is guilty”.

Siddu also demanded that a case under Section 13 (criminal misconduct by a public servant) should also be filed against Eshwarappa.

On the other hand, we demand judicial probe by a sitting High Court judge and ensure justice for Santhosh Patil’s death, Siddaramaiah said.

AICC General Secretary and Karnataka in charge Randeeep Singh Surjewala, KPCC Working President Saleem Ahmed and others were present.
