Congress Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Satav dies at 47

New Delhi: Congress Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Satav passed away at a hospital in Pune, Maharashtra on Sunday. He was 47.
Satav had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 22 and was later cured of it. He was later diagnosed with a new viral infection and was in a critical condition. He was on ventilator support at the hospital after his health deteriorated.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said it is a big loss to him.
“I’m very sad at the loss of my friend Rajeev Satav. He was a leader with huge potential who embodied the ideals of the Congress. It’s a big loss for us all. My condolences and love to his family,” Rahul tweeted.
Satav was a former president of Indian Youth Congress, the position he held from February 2010 to December2014.
Rajeev was representing Maharashtra in the upper house of the parliament.
