Congress leaders trying to intimidate me, but I won’t be silent: Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy at mega JDS protest rally

3 min read

Bengaluru: Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy, speaking at the “Sakappa Saaku Congress Sarkara Must Go” protest rally held at Freedom Park, thundered that Congress leaders are attempting to intimidate him.

“It is true that I have tonnes of documents in my possession. But no one can suppress my voice. I will not be silenced,” he declared, addressing a packed gathering led by JDS youth president Nikhil Kumaraswamy.

Taking a direct swipe at Congress leaders, the Union Minister said, “They are trying to silence me by bringing truckloads of fake documents. Let them bring it—I’m ready. I know exactly how deep corruption is rooted under their rule. If I open up what I have, the people themselves will chase them away.”

Congress harassing me, but I won’t back off

Kumaraswamy stated that, Congress is continuously harassing him, even during his tenure as a Union Minister.

“Even when I was CM, I never misused power. Today too, I fight not with manipulation but with faith in justice and the courts. Let Congress know—no one can muzzle my voice.”

Serious allegations against CM Siddaramaiah

Union Minister Kumaraswamy questioned CM Siddaramaiah over series of allegations involving illegal mining and kickbacks worth Rs 500 crore during lease renewals.

“Isn’t it true that the State Exchequer suffered losses worth Rs 5,000 crore because of this? There is a request before the Governor for a prosecution sanction. Let Siddaramaiah respond to that,” he demanded.

He added, “When it comes to me, they question everything—even where not a single gram of soil has been lifted! But when it’s about them, it’s silence. I have all the documents. They will speak when the time comes.”

Stop trying to muzzle me

“This is nothing but an attempt to gag me. But let me make it very clear—no one has the power to scare me,” he said, reminding the crowd that he had already served twice as Chief Minister and had never been involved in any illegal activity.

JD(S) workers should stand tall

“Our party is strong. Our workers must not panic. We will come back to power,” he said, accusing the current government of being apathetic to farmers’ distress caused by unseasonal rains and of indulging in political vendetta instead of governance.

A Government of Corruption and Price Hikes

Calling the Congress-led government the “worst ever seen in Karnataka,” Kumaraswamy alleged that corruption is rampant across all departments. “The Chief Minister is the fountainhead of this rot,” he said.

Criticising the steep hikes in fuel, electricity, and essential service prices, he remarked, “Even the Deputy CM says that not even God can fix this city. What kind of governance is this? You came to power in the name of guarantees, but are looting the people now” he remarked.

Kumaraswamy reminded the party workers and citizens that during his tenure, he waived off farm loans and never imposed undue taxes on the people. “Now, under the guise of guarantees, power tariffs have gone up, and farmers are being asked to pay lakhs for transformers. This is betrayal.”

Union Minister warns about debt explosion

“This government has already borrowed Rs 2 lakh crore. If this continues, Karnataka’s debt will hit Rs 10 lakh crore. Prices are rising every day. People are being pushed into hardship,” he warned.

“This fight has just begun”

The protest, marked by high energy and aggressive slogans, saw participation from 16 JD(S) MLAs. Kumaraswamy hailed it as a moral battle against injustice and loot, promising continued and intensified opposition.
