Mysuru: Congress leaders, on Friday, held a protest march from Congress office to Devaraja Police Station condemning Higher Education Minister C N Ashwathanarayan’s comment on Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah.

They lodged a complaint against the BJP Minister for allegedly likening Siddaramaiah to Tipu Sultan and instigating people to “finish off” former chief minister like how Tipu was “finished.”

Mysuru District Rural Congress Committee President Dr B J Vinay Kumar, City President R Murthy, Mahila KPCC president Dr Pushpa Amarnath and Spokesman M Lakshman held placards that said “Nannannu Hathye Maadi” (Kill Me Also) as a response to BJP minister’s comments.

Congress spokesperson and general Secretary M Lakshman said “BJP leaders are desperate to attack Siddaramaiah as he cannot be threatened with IT or ED raids. With no other option, they are making these comments to target Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah,” he added.

Former ZP Presidents K Marigowda, B M Ramu, Koorgalli Mahadev, leaders Eshwar Thakkadi, Bhaskar, former Corporator Shivanna and other leaders took part in the protest.
