Congress got Muslim votes, but failed to fulfil promises: SDPI State President Abdul Majeed

Mysuru: The two-day State Representative Council of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) began on Monday at Hotel White Palace in the city, with the inauguration by the party’s State President Abdul Majeed.

SDPI National Vice President B M Kamble said that, the opposition parties in the country including the Congress has failed to fight for the people in today’s situation where the country is caught in the vortex of many problems such as anarchy, corruption, widespread communalism and price rise. Today, neither legislators nor activists are working as per the wishes of the constitution. He opined that even the Election Commission is not an exception.

SDPI State President Abdul Majeed said that  SDPI has engaged itself in its continuous struggle and philanthropic work in the last three years. The politics of the state of Karnataka is very worrying if you look carefully. The Congress party which got the most votes from the Muslim community has not fulfilled its promises to the Muslim community. It may be the issue of hijab, 2B reservation, providing Rs 10,000 crores in the budget, today the condition of Muslims seems to be caught in the crosshairs, said Majeed.

Even in the case of Dalits, the Siddaramaiah government is not fulfilling the promise of internal reservation. The Siddaramaiah government is acting out of fear. He said that the Siddaramaiah government is expert in making U-turns.

SDPI National General Secretaries Majeed Faizi, Ilyas Muhammad Thumbe. Mohammad Ashraf, National Secretaries Riyaz Parangipete, Alphonse Franco, National Committee Members D R Mehboob Sharif, Abdul Hannan, Munawwar Hussain, State Leaders Devanur Putnanjaya, ProfSaida Sadiya, B R Bhaskar Prasad, Afsar Kodlipete, Abdul Latif, Majeed Thumbe, WIM President Naseema Jokatte, Mujahid Pasha, Khalid Yadgiri, Nasriya Bellare and State Committee members were present on the stage.

District Committees of each district of the party participated in the meeting as representatives.

The three-year report of the party will be presented and discussed in this two-day meeting. A new committee and office-bearers will be elected for the next three years.

SDPI State Secretary Abdul Rahim Patel welcomed the leaders and representatives.
