Congress’ first list announced; Siddaramaiah to contest from Varuna, Darshan Dhruvanarayan from Nanjangud

Mysuru: Congress announced its first list of candidates for 124 candidates on Saturday. In Mysuru, except for NRconstituency, candidates for KR and Chamaraja constituencies have not been announced.

Putting all confusion to rest, Siddaramaiah will contest from Varuna constituency. His son and current MLA Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah has not got a ticket, as yet.

Congress leader Late R Dhruvanarayan’s son Darshan Dhruvanarayan has got a ticket to contest from Nanjangud constituency. Former Minister, HC Mahadevappa who was an aspirant to contest from Nanjangud had decided to make way for Darshan Dhruvanarayan after Dhruvanarayan’s sudden death. Mahadevappa will now contest from Narasipura constituency.

As expected, Tanveer Sait will contest from Narasimharaja assembly segment. It may be recalled here, Sait had announced to quit from active politics recently triggering protests by his supporters. Some even threatened to end their lives. Now, after the high drama, Tanveer Sait will contest from NR Constituency.

Besides, HP Manjunath will contest from Hunsur, Anil Chikkamadu from HD Kote, K Venkatesh from Periyapatna, D Ravi Shankar from KR Nagar constituency and former minister Late H S Mahadevprasad’s son Ganesh Prasad will contest from Gundlupet.
