Cong promises Rs 2k every month to woman head of family

Bengaluru: To woo women voters, the Congress promised Rs 2,000 a month to every woman head of the households if the party comes to power in the State.
This was announced by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who addressed a mega rally of women Congress workers titled ‘Na Nayaki (I am the leader) in Bengaluru on Monday. She said under the ‘Gruha Lakshmi Yojana’, Rs 24,000 a year would be credited to their bank accounts to reduce the burden of the “exorbitant” LPG prices. This is expected to benefit more than 1.5 cr women.
She further said that the party will release a separate manifesto in the coming days. The State is expected to go for polls in May.
