Confusing’ road signs around KR Circle force tourist vehicles to pay penalty for no fault of theirs!

1 min read

Mysuru: The Heritage City witnesses tourists throughout the year as it is one of the must-see cities in the country. But tourist vehicles that enter the City are forced to cough up penalties to the transport officials, for no fault of theirs! For, to enter City, the tourist vehicles, especially the cars, are forced to take the small bay at Albert Victor Road that connects Chamaraja Wadiyar Circle unknowingly leading them to the KR Circle bus stand.

This ‘wrong entry’ is forcing many tourist vehicles to pay a penalty as they find difficulty in exiting. Moreover, absence of any signboards here too has made it difficult for tourists. Many observed that the sign board which is written only in Kannada that “Only KSRTC buses” adds to the confusion of non-Kannada speaking tourists, who unknowingly enter the bus bay and struggle to find a way out, having to circle the city bus stand and end up paying the penalty.

Activist Arvind Sharma observed that the rules laid down by KSRTC are confusing the tourists here. He also sought to know how could the authorities penalize tourists, who unknowingly enter the City bus stand area? He urged the authorities to ensure tourists are not inconvenienced with such ‘confusing’ directions and penalty.
