Commemmoration Day! RPF, Mysuru division pays tribute to martyr’s

Mysuru: South Western Railway (SWR) Mysuru division had organised commemoration day parade at Divisional Railway Manager’s Office Complex on Wednesday.

Railway Protection Force of Mysuru division paid tribute to the martyrs, who have done supreme sacrifice, while serving the nation.

Thomas John, Divisional Security Commissioner, Railway Protection Force, Mysuru was the chief guest.

He remembered the selfless services rendered by the martyrs, who laid down their lives in the altar of duty and paid respect to them, by laying a wreath on the “Martyrs Memorial” which was followed by A Sridhar, Assistant Security Commissioner, Inspectors and Staff of Railway Protection Force, Mysuru.

The parade paid due respect to the “Martyrs Book” by “Presenting Arms” and further changed into “Soke Shasthra” (Mourning Scripture) drill, along with two minutes’ silence, as a mark of respect to the martyrs.

October-21 is observed as Police Commemoration Day, every year, to acknowledge the sacrifices of brave soldiers, while protecting mother India.

This marks an event, way back in 1959, during the Chinese aggression, exactly on October 21, where in, 10 courageous policemen, while guarding the security border post at Hot Spring,courgeh, sacrificed their lives, in countering the huge Chinese forces, from entering into Indian territory, according to Priya Shetty, Divisional Commercial Manager and Senior PRO.
