Mysuru: As a part of its long-term commitment to the society, Columbia Asia Hospitals – Mysore (A unit of Manipal Hospitals), conducted an Inter-School Health Quiz in association with the Cardiology Society of India – Mysore Chapter to test and enrich the students knowledge
This quiz was one of the first digital version to be organized in Mysore and had immense participation with 11 schools participating in it with a total of 37 teams and 74 participants.
“It is important to instill healthy habits in children from the time they are young. The health quiz enabled the children to get basic knowledge about how the human body works, the current affairs and the global emerging patterns of the world and the changing lifestyle and the importance of having knowledge about it, in a fun and learning environment” said Dr Sasirekha – Consultant Interventional Cardiology, Columbia Asia Hospitals – Mysore (A Unit of Manipal Hospitals)
“Many students would be interested in pursuing a future in healthcare. This quiz helps students to know more about much needed topics regarding health care. It also creates awareness regarding World Heart Day and its purpose. It is important to create awareness among our kids regarding heart disease and lifestyle related issues”. added Dr Veena and Dr Veenu – Senior Cardiologists of Mysore and the office bearers of Cardiology Society of India – Mysore Chapter
St Joseph’s Central School emerged as the winners of the quiz and Sadvidya School emerged as the runners-up. The winners and runners-up are entitled to a trophy and cash prize.

“The Columbia Asia School Quiz is always an opportunity for the students to get robust exposure in the field of healthcare as well as quizzing with a theme on World Heart Day. This being the season- 3 we saw tremendous levels of excitement and enthusiasm amongst the participants as well as the parents.
