CM’s son Vijayendra’s temple visit triggers row! Mysuru Congress Committee complains to DC, seeks FIR against errant lot

Mysuru: Alleging violation of disaster management Act in place, on the part of Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s son B Y Vijayendra the BJP State vice- president, Mysore District Congress Committee has lodged a complaint to deputy commissioner.

In a complaint copy handed over to Deputy Commissioner Rohini V Sindhuri on Wednesday, Mysore District Rural Congress Committee President Dr B J Vijaykumar has explained that “On Tuesday, the chief minister’s son B Y Vijayendra along with his family and supporters took part in a puja at the place where Mahadeva Thatha’s tomb is located in Nanjangud taluk and also visited Srikanteshwara Swamy temple, coming under Muzrai department and took part in homa and havan.”

The chief minister’s son himself has violated section 51 of Disaster Management Act 2005 and Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Control Act 2020. It is also a clear violation of IPC section 188.

Hence, the police be directed to file a FIR against Vijayendra. Those who helped Vijayendra during his temple visit like, temple management committee, government staff and priests should also be suspended and FIR be filed against them, the complaint copy reads.

City Congress President R Murthy and other leaders were present.
