CM Yediyurappa orders release of Rs 36 lakh for Dasara in Chamarajanagar

Chamarajanagar: Late but not never the state government has taken steps to release Rs 36 lakh funds for Dasara festival in the district. The district administration had been finding it difficult to make preparations due to lack of funds.

Following a proposal from the district administration that was brought to the notice of the government, in a letter by Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar also the district incharge minister, chief minister has ordered Dasara Special Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru to sanction Rs 36 lakh for Dasara in Chamarajanagar.

Following the timely gesture of the chief minister, Suresh Kumar has thanked the former.

As decided earlier in a meeting, the festival will be a low key affair due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The customary puja will be offered at Chamarajeshwara temple on October 17 at 10.30 am to mark the beginning of Dasara. The festival will conclude on October 20.

The cultural programmes will be screened live on social media and local cable network for the benefit of the people.
