Mysuru: Emphasizing on how one should be aware of the Constitutional rights, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah urged everyone to read and be aware of their rights.
Speaking after inaugurating a new branch of Adichunchanagiri Mutt at Hebbal here on Monday, CM Siddaramaiah stressed on the Constitutional values. While education was affordable to only a few sections of the society, the Constitution, today, helped everyone to get educated. However, he lamented at the fact that those who are educated believe in the caste system and this is really unfortunate. “We must believe in universal brotherhood,” he added.
He lauded Adichunchanagiri Mutt for immensely contributing for education by having several educational institutions. To honour the community’s efforts, the government decided to celebrate Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanti. The government has also named the Airport after the Bengaluru ruler, Kempegowda.
On the occasion, he also inaugurated a new hostel building and a cultural auditorium at Hebbal Lakshmikantha Nagar.
Adichunchanagiri Mutt seer Nirmalanandanatha swami, Mysuru mutt seer Somanathananda swami, Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy, Chamaraja MLA K Harish Gowda, Mayor Shivakumar and MLA Tanvir Sait were present.
