Mysuru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday mulled international tourism circuit connecting Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara.
Addressing the gathering after the inauguration of 411th Dasara festival atop Chamundi Hill, Bommai came out with the above announcement in response to the suggestion of his predecessor S M Krishna, who inaugurated Navaratri festivities.
Referring to the suggestion of Krishna to develop a tourism circuit, Bommai said “the tourism at Paris and Rome are developed on the similar lines. Accordingly measures will be taken to develop international tourism circuit connecting Dasara.”
Saying that Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara is reduced to a simple affair due to the prevailing Covid crises, Bommai prayed to the Goddess Chamundeshwari for the good of the people.
” I am ready to embrace all the difficulties, let the Goddess Chamundeshwari shower her blessings on the people. Also I will pray for strength from the Goddess to fight the difficulties ” said Bommai.
Recalling the developments that preceded the selection of Krishna to inaugurate Navaratri festivities, Bommai listed the achievements of Krishna while in office that made him a fit person to do the honours.
As a CM Krishna launched unique schemes like- Yashaswini health insurance scheme for farmers, mid-day meals at government schools and Rajiv Gandhi Housing scheme. They were unique in their own sense, for being a first of its kind in the country, said Bommai.
