City police restrict new year celebrations

Mysuru: In order to ensure safety of the people and to contain the spread of Covid-19, City Police have restricted New Year celebration. The police directed the bars, hotels and restaurants to down shutters by 11.30 pm.
The police also warned the public not to create nuisance by celebrating in streets at mid-night. The police also banned entry atop Chamundi Hill from 6 pm.
DCP Dr A N Prakash Gowda said, the police are directed to intensify routine night patrol. The restrictions will be in place till January 2, 2021.
Hotel Owners Association President C Narayanagowda said, the hotel owners will abide by the police rules. The hotels have taken have taken necessary measures to ensure safety of customers, he said.
