City college to adopt five students among flood survivors

Mysuru: Help is pouring in from all quarters for those affected by flood in the State. SVG Vishwaprajna PU College in the city has decided to offer free education to five students from the flood affecred areas in the State.

Head of the institution Vishwanath Sheshachala has said “We will accommodate those students who are studying in PUC to pursue education. As per the change of college rules, the students will be provided admission. They will be admitted either in science or commerce streams as per their requirement”.

The selected students will also be given free boarding faciilty and coaching for CET and other competitive exams. During the previous year too, the college helped the flood affected people in Kodagu with kits.

Sheshachala said ” the intention is to motivate other institutions to follow the suit and come forward for the cause of students in crises. We have already launched a campaign on social media to promote the idea of free education for students in flood hit region”.

Kempegowda and other faculty members of the college were present during the press meet.
