City boy wins bronze in debut swimming competition

Mysuru: A nine-year-old boy of the city has won a bronze medal in State-level Non-medallist Swimming Competition, organised by Mysore District Swimming Association at the University of Mysore swimming pool on August 18, at Saraswathipuram in the city.

Advik C, a resident of T K layout, won the medal in 4×50 metre freestyle relay category. It was his maiden competition and his prize winning ability has instilled hopes of carving a niche of his own in swimming in the future.

He will be participating in the CBSE State-level Swimming Competition organised in Davangere on September 7.

Advik joined swimming out of curiosity, but his skills was noticed by his coaches Albert Sebastian, Manoj and Skanda. They honed his skills in swimming further, shaping the child prodigy, who has all the abilities to achieve further.
