CID cell police forest mobile squad arrests one, seizes elephant tusks

Chamarajanagar: CID Cell Police forest mobile squad arrested a person on the charges of possessing ivory on Thursday.
Balan (56) a native of Kerala had elephant tusks in his possession that was seized from him at his house near Kaniyanapura colony in Bandipur forest in Gundlupet taluk.
Acting on a tip off, the forest mobile policemen collected information about his movements in Tamil Nadu and Kerala as he was planning to dispose off the tusks
.
ADGP (CID central office) Sharat Chandra, SP Chandrakanth and DySP Srinivas Reddy supervised the operation.
A team led by PSI Deekshit Kumar, personnel Naveen Kumar, Veerabhadrappa, Madesh Kumar, Swamy, Govindu, Basavaraju and driver Raju arrested thr accused.
