Bengaluru: KPCC President D K Shivakumar has said “the chief minister’s chair is not fixed for anybody.”
Shivakumar who is annoyed over the recent political development, especially after Chamarajpet MLA B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan called ‘Siddaramaiah as the next chief minister’, on Thursday said ” Anybody can become the chief minister. The opinion of MLAs elected in the polls will decide the chief minister.”
There is a history of both D Devaraj Urs and Ramakrishna Hegde becoming the chief minister even without contesting the elections, said Shivakumar.
The opinion of Zameer Ahmed Khan has brought to forefront the debate over who would be the next chief minister, again, if Congress is voted to power in the next elections.
Amid this, the supporters of former deputy chief minister G Parameshwara are also not behind.
In a show of strength they raised slogans as Parameshwara as the next chief minister, during the latter’s visit to Suttur mutt in Mysuru on Thursday.
