Chief Minister will decide on extending lockdown, says Minister Somashekar

Bengaluru: Minister for Cooperation and Mysuru district incharge S T Somashekar on Monday said that “Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will take a decision on extending lockdown in the state (after May 24), after discussing with the district ministers and deputy commissioners.”

Somashekar who took part in the inaugural ceremony of BGS Covid Care Centre opened by BGS Global Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital at Yeshwanthpur, along with the chief minister, said “the chief minister will decide on extending the lockdown. There is an ongoing discussion on extending lockdown by another 10 days. Till now, we have been taking measures as per the experts committee.”¬†

The chief minister will hold a video conference with all the district  incharge ministers and deputy commissioners. A special package was announced during the lockdown previous year to help the economically weaker sections. A decision will be taken this time after an elaborate discussion, said Somashekar.
