Chamarajanagar: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday reiterated his commitment to visit the district, ignoring the deep rooted myths (of losing power).

Addressing the gathering during the inauguration of 450-bed teaching hospital of Chamarajanagar Institute Of Medical Sciences (CIMS) at Yadapura, Bommai said “Had I not come to Chamarajanagar, it would have been dereliction of duty. I won’t give any chance to that”, to the thunderous applause of the gathering who also raised slogans.

Bommai said “my visit to Chamarajanagar led to several discussions. It was unwarranted. Let the people believe what they believe in. But I believe in doing good things with a good heart and the end results will also be good.”

” Today I have taken a vow to address  regional imbalance in the district and bring it to the forefront like any other districts in the State. The district is considered as one of the backward districts”, said Bommai.

” I will be returning to the district and conduct a review meeting at deputy commissioner’s office,” said Bommai.

Emphasising on taking the benefits of health even to the last man in the society, Bommai said ” CIMS should produce finest of medical, paramedical and nursing graduates. The central government is keen on improving medical infrastructures in the State. Hence the Centre is bearing 60 per cent of the cost of upcoming hospitals in Haveri and other districts. While the works on remaining medical colleges in the State will be taken up on PPP model.”

Highlighting that health assumes paramount significance, Bommai said ” One cannot achieve anything without maintaining a good health.”

Bommai who called it as a matter of privilege that CIMS teaching hospital was inaugurated at the hands of President of India, brought it to the notice of the latter that the district is a mix of abundant religious spots and natural resources.

President of India Ram Nath Kovind, Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar, District incharge minister S T Somashekar and others were present.
