Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa to release ‘Shivapada Ratnakosha’ on July 28

Mysuru: ‘Shivapada Ratnakosha’ a comprehensive dictionary of Vachana literature, Veerashaiva- Lingayat and other forms of literature will be released online on July 28.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will do the honours on the day at 12 noon. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion.

The book will be available at 50 per cent discount rate of Rs 500 against the cover price of Rs 1,000, till July 31.

An initiative of Sri Shivarathreeshwara Granthamala of JSS Mahavidyapeeth, it is a first of its kind and the result of seven years long work of an editorial board headed by Suttur seer as honorary editor and Nandish Hanche, Assistant Professor, JSS College, as its executive editor. Hanche is the present chairman of Kannada Book Authority.

Jnana Yogashram, Vijayapura, Sri Siddeshwara Swamiji has also lent his advise to the committee.

It runs around 1,000 pages and has over 40,000 words.

The board included renowned scholars like Prof G S Siddalingaiah, Dr T V Venkatachala Shastry, H V Nagaraj Rao, Dr N S Taranath, Dr C Shivakumara Swamy, R S Poornananda and several others.

Seers Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji and Tumakuru Siddaganga Mutt’s Sri Siddalinga Swamiji will also grace the occassion.

Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karajola will preside. Kannada and Culture Minister C T Ravi will release the first copy of the book.

Cooperation Minister and Mysuru district incharge minister S T Somashekar will felicitate the members of editorial board in Mysuru event.

Mysuru- Kodagu MP Prathap Simha, MLAs S A Ramadass, G T Devegowda and L Nagendra, MLCs A H Vishwanath, Marithibbe Gowda, K T Srikantegowda, Sandesh Nagaraj and R Dharmasena will be present.
