Chess champion Dhatri from Mysuru all set for UAE Meet

Mysuru: In a proud moment for Karnataka and India, Dhatri Umesh, a promising Chess Champion hailing from Mysuru, is all set to represent the country at the upcoming Asian Youth Chess Championship to be held at Al-Ain, United Arab Emirates (UAE), from December 12 to 22.
With an impressive track record that includes victories at the State and National levels, Dhatri is geared up to make her mark on the international Chess board. She will be leaving for Dubai on December 11.
Dhatri’s journey in the world of Chess began at the age of five at the Mysore Chess Center under the expert guidance of Suresh. Her passion for the game quickly blossomed into a remarkable talent, catching the attention of the chess community.
She is the daughter of well-known Kannada author Umesh and Brunda couple, adding an extra layer of intellectual depth to her pursuits.
Last year, Dhatri not only clinched victory in the State and National Chess Championships, but also earned her spot to compete in the prestigious World Championship.
Under the tutelage of Aravind Shastri, Secretary of Karnataka State Chess Association, she has received advanced coaching, further enhancing her strategic prowess on the chessboard.
Dhatri, who did her schooling in National Public School (NPS), Mysuru is currently pursuing First PUC at Expert PU College, Mangaluru.
Dhatri has been balancing her academic commitments with her passion for Chess.
