Chamundeshwari temple opens for public, no decision on Ashada puja yet

Mysuru: After over two months of unprecedented lockdown that kept even the temples closed, the Chamundeshwari temple at Chamundi Hill opened it’s doors to the devotees on Monday. 

The public were allowed to have the darshan of the deity since 7.30 am. 
District Incharge Minister ST Somashekhar, MLA GT Deve Gowda family, MLA S A Ramadas, DC Abhiram G Sankar, SP Rhyshyanth and others offered their prayers.
A special ouja was also offered on behalf of the district administration. 

The district administration is still undecided about holding Ashada puja, as the Ashada month begins from this month end at the temple. Since lakhs of devotees take part in the month-long Ashada, the district administration is still weighing the options, said minister ST Somashekhar.

Speaking to the media persons here on Monday, Somas6 said that Mysuru’s presiding deity Chamundeshwari protected us from the Corona pandemic. 
He urged the devotees to follow 5he protocol to protect themselves from the deadly virus. 
Meanwhile, MLA GT Devegowda mourned actor Chiranjeevi Sarja’s demise.
“He was a talented and promising actor. But died too soon. He prayed goddess to give strength to his family to bear his loss”.
