Mysuru: Goddess Chamundeshwari temple at Chamundi Hill will be open for two more hours till 10 pm to enable the rush today and tomorrow (October 14 and 15).
Cooperation and district incharge Minister S T Somashekhar informed this to media persons at Palace on Thursday.
“Mysuru Dasara is the one of the tourist destinations. After catching a glimpse of illuminated Mysuru city, tourists can’t visit the temple as it closes at 8 pm. Hence it has been directed to keep the temple open till 10 pm to enable the visitors.”
To a query over the request of various organisations to extend Dasara illumination for 10 more days till Deepavali, the minister said “some unions and organizations have requested for extension of three days and some for 10 days. A decision in this regard will be taken by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who is coming to Mysuru. We will discuss the proposal with the chief minister, added Somashekar.
