Chamarajanagar police recover Rs 50 lakh worth pan masala within 12 hours

Chamarajanagar: Acting swiftly the district police cracked a major case of theft and recovered Rs 50 lakh worth Pan Masala within 12 hours of receiving the complaint.
The huge consignment of tobacco products had been burgled from a godown at Kolipalya in the outskirts during the wee hours of Monday and was traced at Tirpur in Dharmapuri taluk in Tamil Nadu.
While one of the accused identified as 21 year old Abuthala is arrested, search is on for 11 others suspected to be involved in the case who are currently at large.
A gang oof about 10 to 12 wwho llegedly came in two diferent goods vehicles from Tamil Nadu broke opened the godown and fled with Rs 50 lakh worth goods, at Koli Palya Village in Chamarajanagar taluk. 
Bavar Lal a general merchant who owns Mahaveer Marketing had stocked the product at the godown. He later lodged a complaint with the police.
SP Divya Sara Thomas appreciated the district police team for swift action and announced a cash reward.
Additional SP Anitha Haddannavar and DySP Priyadarshini Sanikoppa supervised the investigation that was carried out by a police team led by Chamarajanagar rural Circle Inspector M Nanjappa.
The team included PSIs Ravikumar D R and S Lokesh of East police station along with head contables Basavanna, Jayappa, Shantharaju and Chandu, Constables Krishna, Ashok, Kishore, Srinivas and Chandrashekar and jeep drivers Nagaraju and Mahadeva Swamy.
