Chamarajanagar DC pays surprise visit to Indira Canteen, girls hostel

Chamarajanagar: Deputy Commissioner C T Shilpa Nag paid a surprise visit to Indira Canteen, Hospital and Hostels to take a quality check of these places on Tuesday night.
She first visited Indira Canteen and inspected hygiene at the premises. Later, she also inspected grocery stock and menu. She instructed canteen manager to put a CCTV in the canteen to verify the number of people visiting canteens and also the accounts. She later had Ricebath prepared at the canteen to check the food quality.
She also made a surprise visit to Women and Child Hospital at B Rachaiah Double Road. She enquired about the health of patients admitted in the hospital and also sought to know the treatment they were being given. She visited NICU unit and took stock of the measures adopted to check malnutrition.
From there, she visited Girls Hostel run by Social Welfare Department. She interacted with the students to know about the facilities provided at the hostel. She also tasted dinner to check quality.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Geetha Huded, City Municipal Council Commissioner S V Ramadas, District Health Officer Dr Vishveshvaraiah, Dr Mahesh, Dr Krishna Prasad and Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Mallikarjun were present.
