Chain snatchers return, woman robbed off 30 grams gold chain in Vidyaranyapuram

Mysuru: After a brief lull, chain snatchers struck at Vidyaranyapuram in the city. They have made away with a gold chain weighing 30 grams.
On Monday evening, Gowramma a resident of Vidyaranyapuram was returning home from her friend’s house, when a bike-borne duo robbed Gowaramma of her gold chain.
Learning about the incident, police personnel zeroed in on the suspects and had almost caught them after chasing them till the traffic signal at Basaveshwara circle, where the assailants abandoned their motorcycle before fleeing from the spot.
According to the police, the source of the number plate of the vehicle was traced to Mahalakshmipuram in Bengaluru.
KR Police station Sub-inspector Sunil visited the spot, as the place where the vehicle was abandoned by the chain snatchers come under the respective station’s jurisdiction.
Gowramma has lodged a complaint at Vidyaranyapuram police station.
