Mysuru: Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industries ( MCCI) president A S Satish has demanded Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Limited ( Cesc) to explore the possibilities of laying underground cable in the industrial areas.

Participating at the consumer interaction programme organised by Cesc at Rani Bahadur Auditorium in the city on Wednesday, Satish made the demand in the interest of industrialists.

If underground cables are laid, the industrialists can think of further plantation of saplings and keep the area clean, he felt.

Mysore Industries Association ( MIA) secretary H R Suresh Kumar Jain demanded for the implementation of separate power tariff for micro, small and medium enterprises ( MSME) industries on the lines of other States.

Subramanyam representing small scale industries association and Jayanth from Hebbal Industrial estate manufacturers association ( HIEMA) also aired their grievances.

Narayan a farmer leader from Bannur questioned the efficacy of Cesc in catering to the needs of the farmers, in an effective manner.

JKVR Shetty a former scientific officer urged Cesc to implement electronic clearance system to automatically pay the power bills, instead of walking up to the counters to pay the bill. It will be beneficial for aged consumers, who are not even aware of online payment method.

Cesc MD Dr H N Gopalakrishna chaired the meet. Director ( Technical) Aftab, Superintendent Engineer Munigopal Raju and other officials attended the meet.
