1 min read

New Delhi: After coming under severe criticism for not holding Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) exams in Kannada and other regional languages, the Centre, on Saturday decided that the CAPF exams will now be held in Hindi and other 13 vernacular languages.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi took to Twitter to confirm this. In a series of tweets, MP Joshi said that this is s historical move by the Union government to conduct the CAPF exams in local languages.

He further said that this is a historic decision as it will uphold the significance of regional languages and the corresponding impact it would have. This would help many from the State to make an attempt at the prestigious service.

Earlier, Opposition leader Siddaramaiah had criticized the Centre for not allowing candidates from non-Hindi speaking states to write CAPF exams in Kannada.
