Seven lakh vaccines to be administered in Karnataka on Yoga Day
Bengaluru: As we approach another International Yoga Day which is celebrated annually on June 21, since 2015, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar appealed to people to celebrate yoga day at homes in the wake of pandemic.
In the wake of pandemic, yoga day celebrations will be virtual this year too. The theme of this year’s International Day of Yoga is ‘Be with Yoga, Be at Home and Yoga for Wellness’.
“Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will perform Yoga at his official residence and I will also join the celebration there. I appeal to everyone to perform yoga at their home early in the morning on 21st and share photos and videos on social media,” said minister.
Video messages from Nagendra of S-VYASA University, Shri Ravishankar Guruji, Shri Vachanananda Swamiji, Shri Jaggi Vasudevji will be shared. All AYUSH students have been requested to perform yoga on the occasion of yoga day, he said.
Lasika Mela
Lasika Mela will be launched on June 21. The special drive will include all groups including 18-44 age group, 45+ and frontline warriors. We have a stock of 14 lakh doses and have set a target to inoculate 5-7 lakh jabs on Monday. Having administered more than 1.8 crore doses, Karnataka accounts for one in every 15 jabs administered in India covering more than 6.6% of the total doses administered in the country so far.
“I have held a meeting with senior officials to review the positivity rate and bed occupancy in the districts. While 16 districts have positivity rate less than 5% and 13 districts have positivity between 5-10%, explained minister.
Other points
Genomics committee has been constituted to study mutant strains.
Expert Committees will be firmed at district level. This will guide the district administrations to prevent and mitigate third wave.
Dr Devi Shetty committee has given a preliminary report. Preparedness will be completed within 45 days of receiving the final report.
