CCB men raid, seal hookah bars in city

Mysuru: City crime branch ( CCB) policemen on Tuesday raided two cafes, with hookah bars in the city. They were functioning in violation of cigarettes and other products (COTPA) Act and have been imposed a fine of Rs 62,000.
Inspector A Mallesh led police team raided a cafe on K D Road and imposed Rs 31,200 fine amount. Purushotham H P the manager has been booked under COTPA.
Another raid was conducted on a cafe near Hotel Lalit Mahal Palace helipad and Rs 30,800 fine was imposed on its manager Lohit L.
The police have seized single and multi-stemmed instruments used to smoke flavoured tobacco. Both the bars have been sealed.
CCB personnel Purushotham, K J Srinivas and Mohan assisted Mallesh in the raids.
